We’re excited to share that OlivSEO’s founder, Olivia Skrzypek, was recently interviewed as an e-commerce expert for The Pallet, the official magazine of the Turfgrass Producers of Texas. The conversation appears in the “Marketing Matters” column of the 2026 Summer Issue, in a feature titled “Sell Sod Online.”
The piece explores something we care deeply about at OlivSEO: helping businesses turn a great product into a smooth, modern online buying experience. In this case, that meant building Shopify stores for sod farms — an industry with genuinely tricky logistics like pallet quantities, pickup and delivery zones, seasonal inventory, and harvesting schedules.
A few of the takeaways from the interview:
- Simplicity wins. Customers want to choose a grass type, calculate how much sod they need, pick pickup or delivery, and check out without confusion. The easier the process feels, the more likely they are to complete the purchase.
- Online ordering is about operations, not just sales. A well-built system cuts down on repetitive phone calls, improves order accuracy, automates notifications, and makes a business look more modern and professional.
- The store has to match how the product is actually sold. Real-world rules — pallet minimums, yard increments, delivery windows, order cutoffs — need to be built into the store from day one.
We’re grateful to journalist Stacie Zinn Roberts and The Pallet for including OlivSEO’s perspective, and proud to see the work of building thoughtful, operations-aware online stores getting a spotlight.
